Herbie Hancock – Sextant

The past year or so has been indelibly marked by my foray into the world of jazz—primarily late-1950s hard-bop through early 70s jazz fusion thus far. My relative novice understanding and experience with jazz certainly makes me uncertified to truly examine this music, but Herbie Hancock’s 1973 album, Sextant, is one that I have definitely taken notice of.
