Between the Zones – Shiftings

A video game series that has heavily influenced my life was the Legacy of Kain series, which consisted of the Soul Reaver and Blood Omen games of the glorious Playstation 1 and 2 eras. This series has long been on hiatus and to be continued. However, that is not the topic of this review, but of Between the Zones—a French band I discovered after I found their guitarist, Gom, performing the Soul Reaver intro music on YouTube. (more…)

Cold – Cold


Cold was one of the first “heavy” bands I ever got into, back around 2002. Their first album was released in 1998. At the time, I thought that this grunge rock music was considered heavy, but now that I have grown much older, I do know that this is not the case at all. Scooter Ward, vocalist of Cold, has a really mumbly, deep voice that is probably best compared to Aaron Lewis of Staind, but much less refined. Cold was actually my favorite band for quite some years, and this first album was a lot different than (more…)
